A greeting

Toshihiko Oka, President
The Osaka International School of Culture and Language provides education on the Japanese language and culture to foreign students who come from all over the world to study in Japan.
We, of course, place emphasis on providing guidance on daily living to ensure that our students can live in Japan with peace of mind.
Another of our school’s aim is to encourage our foreign students, after completing their course at our school, to attend Japanese universities, graduate schools and polytechnic schools to acquire advanced knowledge and skills.

Takeshi Oka, Principal
I find the greatest pleasure in seeing our school graduates return to their home countries and succeed in whatever they do. I feel especially happy to hear that these graduates had set up a Japanese language school, or established a company, after returning home.
Our school has a 22-year history, if we include its predecessor, Osaka International Language School. Until now, over 2,000 students have graduated from our school. I look forward to hearing more good news about our graduates’ successful activities.
Our school building is located close to Osaka Station, in the heart of Osaka, and has outstanding access to transportation.
The school dormitory is situated in Nipponbashi, an area whose residents find it extremely convenient to live in. Our school has overseas exchange students from all over the world, so we encourage you to make lots of friends while studying with us.
- We have a system to recommend students for enrollment in universities and vocational schools.
- You are eligible to receive scholarships from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (candidates will undergo screening).
- A school-owned dormitory is available, allowing overseas exchange students to spend their time in Japan with peace of mind.
- As an elective subject, a special class to prepare for Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students as well as Japanese proficiency tests, will be provided free of charge.

Sachiko Kitano, faculty member
My students sometimes tell me that they get slightly nervous and tense when attending my class. Because each student takes active part in my class with a sense of tension, I feel that the time passes by very quickly. I make sure to carry out classes that are fun and give the students a sense of accomplishment.

Miyuki Inoue, faculty member
At Osaka International School of Culture and Language, we not only conduct Japanese language classes, but also teach how to live in Japan, as well as its culture and customs by putting ourselves in the students’ shoes. I invite you to enjoy studying Japanese in a warm, friendly atmosphere, with the teacher and students forming a large family.
