Unique features of our school

At our school, classes are grouped according to ability, so each student can take lessons that best suit him or her. All the classes are given in Japanese.

Classes are given with a focus placed on developing reading, writing and listening skills in a well-balanced manner. Classes that prepare for Japanese Language Proficiency Test Grade 1 as well as for college entrance examinations are also held at the same time.

  1. We have a system to recommend students for enrollment in universities and vocational schools.

  2. You are eligible to receive scholarships from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (candidates will undergo screening).

  3. A school-owned dormitory is available, allowing overseas exchange students to spend their time in Japan with peace of mind.

  4. As an elective subject, a special class to prepare for Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students as well as Japanese proficiency tests, will be provided free of charge.

  5. Newly enrolled students are assigned to classes that suit the level of their Japanese language skills at the time, to make the lessons more effective. To increase the students’ motivation for learning, moreover, we conduct promotion tests once every three months and allow students to advance to higher-level classes depending on the results of those tests.

  6. Students taking Elementary Japanese study daily conversation, listening comprehension, grammar and vocabulary, while those enrolled in Intermediate Japanese take courses in reading comprehension, Chinese characters, grammar, and composition. We also offer field tours and other events from time to time to allow the students to learn Japan’s various affairs and circumstances more in detail.

  7. Students who take Advanced Japanese strive to get high scores in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Grade 1 and the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, held in December of each year.

  8. Students taking Advanced Japanese use our original textbooks to study sociology, business administration, cross-cultural studies, essay writing, and other subjects, to prepare for going to college. Our school boasts a track record of having close to 100% of our graduates being accepted by higher-level schools.

  9. To gain a deeper understanding of Japan’s industries, culture and nature, students frequently take field trips to visit the cultural assets and historical sites in Nara and Kyoto, as well as the merchant town of Osaka.

Informal get-togethers and parties

We hold informal get-togethers and parties, inviting Japanese university students and goodwill organizations. We encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities to make a broad range of friends. Engaging repeatedly in conversations and writing letters and emails are the shortcuts to improving your Japanese language skills.
